THE CITY AND THE WORLD 2023

ATHENS. GREECE – The urban development study RHEINUFER OFFICE PARK WIESBADEN for the former industrial site on the banks of the Rhine in Wiesbaden receives an Honorable Mention for the “International Architecture Award 2023” from the The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design for sustainable, forward-looking urban development.
 

3DELUXE is very pleased that this ambitious urban development project, which is still in the very early stages of development, is already receiving a great international attention and recognition.

The awarded building and landscape concept is part of a redevelopment site located on Wiesbaden's Rhine riverfront that serves as a model for sustainable, smart and future-oriented urban development. The project comprises the conversion of a former industrial wasteland to a campus-like site that considers all the requirements of modern office and work culture in a densely populated urban environment: CO2-reduced new construction alongside resource-saving redevelopment in addition to green densification, creating urban biotopes and encouraging micro mobility.

With this study, the architectural studio 3DELUXE, together with the client and property owner, the Wiesbaden urban development company SEG, has laid the future-oriented foundations so that this highly interesting urban area can now be further developed with a promising future.

The International Architectural Awards are the oldest and most prestigious distinguished global building awards program that honors new and cutting-edge design worldwide. They set a global standard for architectural achievement worldwide.

Since 2004, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, along with the European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, Ltd. has organized the International Architecture Awards to recognize the best and most significant new buildings, landscape architecture and urban planning projects designed and built by the world's leading architects, landscape architects and urban planners, nationally and internationally. 

The accompanying exhibition titled “THE CITY AND THE WORLD” presents the elite group of buildings and urban planning projects of award-winning architectural offices, that have been awarded at the 2023 International Architecture Awards, with photographic materials and videos, including the RHEINUFER OFFICE PARK WIESBADEN by 3deluxe.
